How do I value my van?

Enter the registration and answer four short questions about mileage and condition. We look the van up against DVLA and MOT records, then a buyer who trades these every week calls you with a figure. It takes about a minute, costs nothing, and you are under no obligation to sell.

Why we don’t flash a number on the screen

We could. Most sites do. The trouble is that an instant online figure is generated before anyone has seen the van, so it gets revised the moment somebody actually looks — which is how people end up haggling on a driveway over a number they thought was agreed.

A figure from a person who has read what you told us is worth more, because it’s the one we’ll still be standing behind on collection day.

What actually moves the number

Model and spec

A Transit Custom Limited and a Transit Custom Base are not the same van, and the trade prices them nothing like the same.

Mileage against age

What matters is mileage relative to the van's age and type. 150,000 motorway miles on a Sprinter is not 150,000 town miles on a Combo.

Mechanical condition

Whether it drives, what it does when it's cold, and whether there are warning lights you've learned to ignore.

Bodywork and rust

Dents and scratches are normal on a working van. Structural corrosion is what moves the number.

Service history

A documented cambelt or chain change is worth real money on the engines where it matters.

What the trade wants that week

Demand genuinely moves. The same van is worth different money in March and in November.

Is a van valuation really free?

Yes, and there is no catch. No fee for the valuation, no fee for collection, and nothing deducted if you do sell. Plenty of people get a figure, think about it, and do nothing — that’s fine.

Questions about valuations

How much is my van worth?

It depends on the model, mileage, condition and how the market is moving that week. Enter your registration and we'll pull the make, model and last recorded mileage automatically, then ask four short questions. A member of the team calls you with a real figure — not an algorithm's guess you have to argue down later.

Do you buy vans that don't run?

Yes. We buy non-runners, MOT failures, vans with blown engines or gearboxes, and vans that haven't moved in years. Tell us it's a non-runner on the condition question and we'll price it as one. Collection is still free — we bring the right vehicle to move it.

Is collection really free?

Yes, anywhere in the UK. We come to your home, your yard or wherever the van is sitting, at a time that suits you. There is no collection fee, no admin fee and nothing deducted from the agreed price. The figure we agree is the figure you receive.

When do I get paid?

The same day we collect. Payment is made by bank transfer once we've seen the van and the paperwork is signed, so the money is moving before we drive away. We don't pay by cheque and we don't hold funds for a clearing period.

Can I sell a van with outstanding finance?

Yes, this is common and completely normal. Ask your finance company for a settlement figure before we speak. If the van is worth more than the settlement, we clear the finance directly and pay you the difference. If it's worth less, you cover the shortfall to complete the sale.

How long does the whole thing take?

Most sellers go from entering their registration to an agreed price the same day. Collection is usually arranged within 24 to 72 hours depending on where you are and when suits you. If you need it gone urgently, say so on the call and we'll work around it.
